Design Polymerics, a leader in high-performance sealants and adhesives for the HVAC and building industries, has announced a packaging update that aligns with new state regulations and advances the company’s commitment to sustainability. Beginning this month, Design Polymerics will begin transitioning from white to black pails made with 30% post-consumer recycled plastic.
This change ensures full compliance with updated pail packaging requirements instituted in California and New Jersey, while also supporting broader efforts to reduce environmental impact across the building products sector.
“This transition is part of a smarter, more sustainable future for our brand and our customers,” said Brian Harruff, Product Manager of Design Polymerics. “While the packaging may look different, customers can count on the same trusted formula inside.”
Customers can expect to see both black and white pails in circulation during a rolling changeover, as the company responsibly works through existing inventory.
Key Highlights:
-New black pails made with 30 % post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic
-Fully compliant with California and New Jersey packaging regulations
-No change to product formula or performance
-Gradual transition to avoid waste and ensure supply continuity
While Design Polymerics has long been at the forefront of the sustainability movement, this step underscores a broader industry shift toward environmentally responsible manufacturing and material usage—without compromising the high-performance standards that professionals depend on.
